I have always enjoyed keeping the viewer and my collectors engaged in my process...

The Mama Bear Series is a bit of a revisit into my Byzantine influnenced Icons... Inspired by Mothers around the World who Work while their Child is strapped to their back or carrying them in a basket.  Perhaps as a Single Mother who does it all alone I am particularly drawn to this subject. I believe it is also that often it is a responsibility that is assummed of the woman and I would like to Shine Light on their Strenght and Beauty.

 I am using Wool Felt to express myself. There is a fluidity and sensuality that I find in this material that is so comforting.   The final product is a Tapestery giving the senation of a blanket that you would want to envelope yourself in.. taking you back to your Origin... I have been drawn to are Skulls which can represent Death but for me are part of the continuing circle and must be just as respected as life.
